I completed a diploma course on computer applications from a NTRAMS affiliated
institute.
I attended a workshop on " Safe Blood Transfusion and Screening" jointly organized by Sandhani and Blood Transfusion Department of Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
As a journalist of The Daily Star, I participated in a three-day workshop on "Media and HIV/AIDS: Training of Trainers Workshop on Development of Multimedia Materials" jointly organized by UNESCO Dhaka & UNESCO New Delhi, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 20-22 January, 2006.
I participated a seminar and live surgery presentation on Phacoemulsification --- "MORE ON PHACO" on April 21, 2006 organized by Bangladesh Eye Hospital, Dhaka.
I participated and presented scientific paper in the "International Conference on Road Safety in Developing Countries" held in August 22-24, 2006 at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The conference was organized by Accident Research Council, Bangladesh.
I participated "Hospital Management Asia 2006" conference held in Singapore on August 29-30, 2006.
As a journalist I attended "WHO Pneumococcal & Hib Surveillance Investigators Meeting" held in Bangkok on March 28-30, 2007.
I attended "Liver Symposium 2007: Liver Transplantation in the 21st Century", held at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore on May 12-13, 2007 organized by Asian Centre for Liver Disease & Transplantation.
I attended a training a Course on Health Equity by James P. Grant School of Public Health, Bangladesh held at BRAC Centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh from June 4-7, 2007. The key resource persons of the course were Abdo S. Yazbeck, the Lead Health Economist and Leader of the Health Program at the World Bank Institute (WBI) at Washington DC, USA, Davidson R. Gwathin, a Consultant on Health and Poverty to the World Bank, the Rockfeller Foundation, and other organizations and Mustaque R. Chowdhury, Dean, James P. Grant School of Public Health.
I attended 4th International Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention of International AIDS Society (IAS) held in Sydney, Australia in July 2007. Visit conference site here.
I had been selected for a Journalist to Journalist HIV/AIDS Training offered by the National Press Foundation, USA prior to the IAS Conference.
I was accorded an award for "Excellence in Health Reporting" on April 11, 2008 by HEAL on the occasion of 1st National Health Writers & Communicators Convention held in New Delhi, India. The Honourable Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare of India Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss handed over the award.
In November 2008, I attended "Diabetes for South-East Asia" conference in Chennai, India. The conference was organized by International Diabetes Federation, World Diabetes Foundation, World Health Organization and the World Bank Group.

| Job Experience |
In the year 2002, I started working with The Independent, an english daily of Bangladesh as Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital correspondent. I continued the job for two years.
I worked with Save the Children, UK as a translator of some papers of HNPSP (Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Wise Program).
I am working as the In-charge of Star Health page of The Daily Star --- the largest circulating English daily newspaper of Bangladesh and beyond. I have been working here since the launch of Star Health page in 2003.
I worked at Mitford Hospital as an internee doctor in 2007.
I used to practise Neuromedicine as a Research Assistant with Dr M A Hayee. Dr Hayee is a renowned Neurologist and Internist in Bangladesh. He is pioneer in Neurointervention and introduction of Botulinum toxin in the treatment of different neurologic disorders in Bangladesh.

I worked as a Research Assistant for the Access to Information Program under e-Governance and Development Cluster of UNDP in 2007. My job was to prepare a Vision Document for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of People's Republic of Bangladesh. The duty station was the e-Governance Cell of the Chief Advisor's Office and UNDP office at IDB Building.

I worked as a Consultant (Health) of SAFE (Safety Assistance For Emergency) for the "Smart Business Initiative" incorporating ILO's National TBP-Urban Informal Economy (component) program - BGD/07/01/NET with the Government of Bangladesh.

Smart Business Initiative (SBI) is the working conditions improvement component of the ILO’s US $ 10.2 million national TBP-UIE (Time Bound Programme-Urban Informal Economy) project funded by the Dutch government which aims at addressing hazardous child labour in the urban informal economy of Dhaka Metropolitan City between January 2007 and December 2011.
At present, I am working at WaterAid in its Bangladesh country office as Documentation and Communication Specialist. WaterAid is a leading international NGO that enables the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.
